Can I use the Grill Pan on other brands of fire pits and fire table?

The Grill Pan is designed and patented for use only on Tropitone® brand Fire Pits and Fire Tables.

Do I need to season the Grill Pan prior to the first use?

The anodized Grill Pan does not need to be seasoned. Anodized aluminum is an "easy release" surface. You may experience some sticking of foods during the initial use of the grill. This will improve after the first few uses of the grill pan. In order to minimize any food sticking to the Grill Pan, allow the Pan to heat up for approximately 10-12 minutes prior to use. Also, allow the ingredients to finish grilling on one side prior to turning.

If you choose to season the Grill Pan, it will not harm the Grill Pan. We recommend using a cooking oil that will withstand high temperatures. Apply a light coat of oil to the Grill Pan prior to heating the pan.

What do I need to be aware of when using the Grill Pan?

During use the handles on the Grill Pan will become hot. Allow the Grill Pan to cool before using the handles or touching the pan.

If using hot pads, only do so after the Fire Pit and Fire Table has been turned off and the flame has been extinguished.

If you remove the Grill Pan when hot or warm, be sure to place the items on a heat resistant surface.

After using the Grill Pan, there is soot in the Fire Pit Media. How can I prevent this from occurring?

Turn down the flame on the Fire Pit and Fire Table to ensure the flame is not above the chimney (hole) in the middle of the Grill Pan. If you observe the flame coming out of the chimney (hole) of the Grill Pan, it is too high. This may cause residual soot to accumulate.

Some minimal soot may develop on the bottom or edges of the Grill Pan. This is normal under appropriate use. Simply clean away to soot after each use.

Are Tropitone Outdoor Cushions waterproof?

Tropitone outdoor cushions are water-resistant. Our outdoor cushions are constructed of fabrics containing UV and Mildew Inhibitors. Additionally, each cushion is constructed of a mildew-resistant core of self-draining fills, many of which are then wrapped in a water resistant covering. Not much water will enter into the cushion, but what does, will quickly evaporate – not mildew. We do not recommend submersing your outdoor cushions or allowing them to lie in standing water. Also, do not put your Tropitone Outdoor Cushions into the dryer. Standing a cushion on its side will help it drain faster if it's been submersed.

Can I burn wood in my Tropitone® Fire Pit and Fire Table?

No. It is not designed to burn wood. Burning wood in this product will cause damage, is extremely dangerous and will void the warranty.

What is the optimal flame height for use with the Grill Pan and how long will it take to heat the Grill Pan for cooking?

How do I clean the Grill Pan after use?

The Grill Pan can be cleaned as any other anodized aluminum cookware may be cleaned.

Can I leave the Burner lit with the Burner Cover on?

No. The Burner, including the pilot flame, must be turned off when the Burner Cover is in place.

What do I do if I smell propane?

Immediately turn off the knob on the propane tank. Allow sufficient time for any propane in the air to dissipate. Check the Fire Pit carefully for any loose connections. Gas leaks should never be tested by lighting a match near the plumbing. Use a leak detection kit from your local home improvement store or contact a qualified gas technician in your area to assist with detecting and correcting a leak. Never operate any gas appliance that has a gas leak.

Can I leave my patio furniture outdoors in the winter?

Tropitone Furniture is intended to be used outdoors. In milder climates, your patio furniture can be left outdoors year-round. Each piece has drain holes built into the frame to ensure water will not build up and freeze causing bursting. However, if you live in a severe climate, it is best to store your patio furniture indoors during extremely cold or wet seasons. Additionally, we recommend you close your patio umbrellas during high-wind situations. Tropitone does not recommend the use of vinyl table covers on its acrylic or solid surface table tops. Heat can become trapped between the patio table top and the vinyl causing the table top surface to warp.

Does the Tropitone® Aluminum Fire Pit Table Top get hot during use?

The Top will get warm to the touch near the Burner Pan.

What is the Grill Pan made of?

The Grill Pan is made of heavy-duty cast aluminum for effective heat transfer and includes a hard anodized cooking surface which allows for the safe use of aluminum even with acidic foods, and for ease of use and clean-up.

What cooking tools can I use with the Grill Pan?

Any utensils that you would normally use for cooking may be used.  Metal cooking utensils may be used as the Grill Pan is made of hard anodized aluminum and will not scratch under normal use.

Can I use my own fabric on my market umbrellas or cushions?

We can use your fabric to cover your market umbrellas, cushions or slings. Of course, our standard fabric warranty would no longer apply. Structural and quantity restrictions will apply. All fabrics will not work on all applications. Check with your Tropitone® Dealer for complete details.

My straps have brown stains that cannot be removed. What are they?

The most likely suspects are sun-tan lotion which, among other ingredients, contain a red or yellow color additive. Left untreated, the sun evaporates the liquid from these lotions, and “burns” the color into the strap. The same effect may come from common rain water, which contains a small amount of dirt. Because these stains cannot be removed, it is highly suggested that you follow our recommended cleaning and maintenance schedules. Click on the following link for complete care and maintenance instructions for your Tropitone Outdoor Furniture.
